Background

I began my work in 2016 in direct behavioral care and music instruction with individuals with special needs and social-emotional differences. Since becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2021, my experience has spanned a range of clinical settings and populations.

My work has included supporting individuals from toddlers to adults in areas such as communication development, emotional regulation, and challenging behavior, from early skill-building to more complex behavioral presentations. I have facilitated social skills groups, supported community based training for first responders, overseen student supervision, and collaborated closely with schools and medical providers.

I have worked with individuals with Autism, ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Fragile X Syndrome, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. Much of my experience has involved navigating overlapping needs, where behavior is influenced by multiple factors rather than a single diagnosis.

Approach & Beliefs

My work is grounded in the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, while also being informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I was drawn to ACT naturally, and it continues to shape how I think about behavior, particularly the role of thoughts, avoidance, and values in long-term change.

In many common insurance models, strategies may be difficult to apply outside of a structured setting. Families are often left trying to translate recommendations into real-life situations without enough support. Clinicians may be trained in procedures, but not always in how to adapt when things don't go as planned.

My approach is built in response to that gap.

As someone living with chronic illness, I am especially mindful of what it means for support to be realistic. Behavior change does not happen in ideal conditions. It happens within the limits of energy, access, environment, and support systems. Because of this, I prioritize strategies that are not only effective, but sustainable.

I believe access to reinforcement, learning, and community should not be dependent on circumstances or resources. Support should meet people where they are and still move them forward.
